Rockefeller Center (Near Times Square) in NYC

Located between 48th St – 51st St and Fifth and Seventh Avenues in MidTown Manhattan, Rockefeller Center comprises of 19 commercial buildings including the NBC Studios, Radio City Music Hall, Bank of America and British Empire building.

Named after John D. Rockefeller Jr, Rockefeller Center is the largest privately held complex in the world.

A major tourist attraction of New York City, Rockefeller Center is also close to Times Square.

Rockefeller Center comprises two building complexes – original 14 office buildings from 1930s and four international tower buildings. The four international towers are Lehman Brothers building, Time Life building, McGraw Hill building and Fox News Channel building.

There are 200 flag poles at the street level of Rockefeller Center Plaza.

During the holidays every flagpole carries the stars and stripes and during the other times the flags of United Nations member countries and United States are flown.

The lower plaza of Rockefeller Center has a golden color statue of Prometheus, skating rink during the winter, restaurants during summer and an underground concourse with interconnected pedestrian passages.

Rockefeller Center Plaza is currently owned jointly by Jerry Speyer of Tishman Speyer Properties and the Lester Crown family of Chicago.
