Yes, folks Sapphire is a C grade Indian restaurant where hygiene is concerned.
Sapphire Indian restaurant, located at 1845 Broadway (near Lincoln Center) has been reopened by the New York City Health Department on April 19, 2011 after a follow-on inspection.
And, according to the NYC Health Dept’s inspection report of April 19, 2011, food at Sapphire is still not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service.
Folks, the last three NYC Health inspection reports of April, 19, 2011, April 15, 2011 and April 13, 2011 cited:
Food not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service.
Sapphire had been closed and re-closed by the NYC Health Dept. on April 13, 2011 and April 15, 2011 after its health inspections unearthed serious hygiene related issues.
Unhygienic Sapphire – Gets C Grade
While reopening Sapphire on April 19, 2011, the NYC health inspection report cited among other things food is not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service and toilet facility is not maintained and provided with toilet paper, waste receptacle and self-closing door.
