Sapphire Indian restaurant located at 1845 on Broadway in Manhattan is not vermin proof, harborage or conditions conducive to vermin exist and there is evidence of, or live mice in the facility’s food and/or non-food areas  says, the New York City Department of Health following its inspection of this restaurant on April 27, 2010.

The NYC Health Dept. also said the restaurant’s non-food contact surface is improperly constructed and non-food contact surface or equipment is improperly maintained.

To pass the NYC Health Dept. inspection, a restaurant must receive 27 violation points or less.

Sapphire received 23 violation points and passed the NYC Health Dept. inspection of April 27, 2010.

Sanitary Violations observed at Sapphire during the April 27, 2010 inspection:

1.) Non-food contact surface improperly constructed. Unacceptable material used. Non-food contact surface or equipment improperly maintained.
2.) Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to vermin infestation exist.
