Food containing artificial trans fat, with 0.5 grams or more of trans fat per serving is being stored, distributed, held for service, used in preparation of a menu item, or served at Bombay Palace, says the New York City Health Department after it inspected this Indian restaurant on February 23, 2010.
Further, Bombay Palace has milk or milk product undated, improperly dated or expired, according to the February 23, 2010 NYC Health Dept. inspection report.
The February 23, 2010 inspection report also cites that personal hygiene is inadequate and clean outer garments, effective hair restraint is not worn at Bombay Palace.
Bombay Palace located at 30 West 52nd St in Midtown Manhattan received 24 violation points and passed the NYC Health Dept. inspection.
A NYC restaurant needs a score of 27 or less to pass the NYC Health Dept. inspection.
Sanitary Violations observed at Bombay Palace Indian restaurant during the February 23, 2010 inspection:
1.) Lighting inadequate. Bulb not shielded or shatterproof.
2.) Milk or milk product undated, improperly dated or expired.
3.) Canned food product observed severely dented.
4.) Food contact surface not properly maintained, or not washed, rinsed and sanitized after each use and following any activity when contamination may have occurred.
5.) Personal hygiene inadequate. Clean outer garments, effective hair restraint not worn.
6.) Hot PHF not held at or above 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
Trans Fat Violations observed at Bombay Palace Indian restaurant during the February 23, 2010 inspection:
1.) A food containing artificial trans fat, with 0.5 grams or more of trans fat per serving, is being stored, distributed, held for service, used in preparation of a menu item, or served.
The NYC Health Dept. said a Notice of Violation was not issued as a result of this inspection and that the violation point total of Bombay Palace is above the average violation point total of 14 for all NYC restaurants on their most recent inspection.
