Utsav Festive India Restaurant located in MidTown West Manhattan near Times Square has failed the New York City Department of Health inspection conducted on September 11, 2009.
In its inspection of September 11, 2009, the NYC Health Dept. found that the food at Utsav, a NYC Indian restaurant, is not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service.
Utsav Festive India Restaurant located at 1185 on Avenue of Americas in Midtown West Manhattan received a whopping 56 Violation Points in its September 11, 2009 inspection and failed the NYC Health Dept. inspection.
To pass the NYC Health Dept. inspection, a restaurant must receive 27 Violation Points or less.
Folks, this is not the first occasion when Utsav was pulled up by the NYC Health Dept.
Utsav failed the NYC Health Dept. inspection. of August 21, 2008 as well after receiving 39 Violation Points.
Sanitary Violations observed at Utsav during the September 11, 2009 inspection:
1.) Food not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service.
The NYC Health Dept. said a Notice of Violation was not issued as a result of this inspection and that the violation point total received by Utsav is above the average violation point total of 14, for all NYC restaurants on their most recent inspection.
Also, Utsav Festive India Restaurant requires Compliance Inspection according to NYC Health Dept’s September 11, 2009 inspection report.
