Pesticide use at Tamarind Restaurant is not in accordance with label or applicable laws, says the New York City Department of Health after conducting a compliance inspection of this Midtown East Manhattan Indian restaurant on August 7, 2009.

The NYC Health Dept. inspection report of August 7, 2009 also notes that prohibited chemical is used/stored at Tamarind Restaurant.

A compliance inspection of Tamarind Restaurant was conducted on August 7, 2009 by the NYC Health Dept. as this Midtown East Manhattan Indian restaurant failed the earlier NYC Health Dept. inspection of June 29, 2009, after receiving 51 violation points.

Tamarind Restaurant, located at 41-43 East 22nd St in Manhattan, received 7 Violation Points in its August 7, 2009 inspection and passed the NYC Health Dept. inspection.

To pass the NYC Health Dept. inspection, a restaurant must receive 27 Violation Points or less.

Sanitary Violations observed at Tamarind Restaurant during the August 7, 2009 inspection:

1.) Pesticide use not in accordance with label or applicable laws. Prohibited chemical used/stored. Open bait station used.
2.) Sanitized equipment or utensil, including in-use food dispensing utensil, improperly used or stored.

The NYC Dept. of Health said a Notice of Violation was not issued as a result of this inspection and that the violation point total received by Tamarind Restaurant is below the average violation point total of 14 for all NYC restaurants on their most recent inspection.
