Tamarind Restaurant Fails NYC Health Dept. Inspection

Sewage disposal system is in disrepair or not functioning properly and plumbing is not properly installed or maintained at Tamarind Restaurant on E.22nd St, says the New York City Department of Health after inspecting this Indian restaurant on June 29, 2009.

In its inspection report of June 29, 2009, the NYC Health Dept. also said that non-food contact surface is improperly constructed and non-food contact surface or equipment is improperly maintained at Tamarind Restaurant.

Tamarind Restaurant located at 41-43 East 22nd St in Manhattan received 51 Violation Points in its June 29, 2009 inspection and failed the NYC Health Dept. inspection.

To pass the NYC Health Dept. inspection, a restaurant must receive 27 Violation Points or less.

Tamarind – Food item Spoiled, Adulterated, Contaminated: NYC Health Dept.

Food item is spoiled, adulterated, contaminated or cross-contaminated at Tamarind located on Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan, says the New York City Department of Health after inspecting this Indian restaurant on May 20, 2009.

The NYC Health Dept. inspection report of May 20, 2009 also noted that lighting is inadequate and bulb is not shielded or shatterproof at Tamarind.

Tamarind located at 424 Amsterdam Avenue in Manhattan received 25 Violation Points in its May 20, 2009 NYC Health Dept.inspection and passed the inspection.

To pass the NYC Health Dept. inspection, a restaurant must receive 27 Violation Points or less.

After failing two consecutive New York City Health Department inspections, Ayurveda Cafe in Manhattan has finally passed the NYC health inspection of July 7, 2009, albeit with issues like flying insects, roaches, vermin, spoiled, adulterated food, contaminated or cross-contaminated item.

Ayurveda Cafe Indian restaurant located on Amsterdam Avenue in Upper West Manhattan is not vermin proof, harborage or conditions conducive to vermin exist and has evidence of flying insects or live flying insects, roaches or live roaches in facility’s food and/or non-food areas, says the NYC Health Dept. after inspecting the restaurant on July 7, 2009.

In its inspection report of July 7, 2009, the NYC Health Dept. also said that food item at Ayurveda Cafe Indian restaurant is spoiled, adulterated, contaminated or cross-contaminated.

Ayurveda Cafe Indian restaurant located at 706-8 Amsterdam Avenue, New York received 22 violation points and passed the inspection of July 7, 2009.

To pass the NYC Health Dept. inspection, a restaurant must receive 27 violation points or less.
