Indian Taj restaurant located at 181 Bleecker St in downtown Manhattan passed the New York City Department of Health inspection of May 14, 2009 after failing two consecutive inspections in a span of one month.

Indian Taj failed the NYC Health Dept. inspection conducted on April 21, 2009 and March 27, 2009.
During the health inspection of May 14, 2009, the NYC Health Dept. found that plumbing is not properly installed or maintained at Indian Taj.
To pass the NYC Health Dept. inspection, a restaurant must receive 27 violation points or less.
Indian Taj received four violation points and passed the NYC Health Dept. inspection of May 14, 2009.
Sanitary Violations observed at Indian Taj during the May 14, 2009 inspection:
1.) Other general violation.
2.) Plumbing not properly installed or maintained; anti-siphonage or backflow prevention device not provided where required; equipment or floor not properly drained; sewage disposal system in disrepair or not functioning properly.
The NYC Dept. of Health said a Notice of Violation was not issued as a result of this inspection and that the violation point total received by Indian Taj is below the average violation point total of 14 for all NYC restaurants on their most recent inspection.
