Bombay Masala located on West 49th St in NYC has failed NYC Health Dept inspection conducted on March 31, 2009 for the second consecutive time in a month and the establishment has been Closed by New York City’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
Bombay Masala also failed the earlier health inspecton conducted on March 12, 2009.
During the health inspection of March 31, 2009, the NYC Health Dept. found facility not vermin proof, evidence of flying insects or live flying insects, evidence of roaches or live roaches in facility’s food and/or non-food areas.
The NYC Health Dept. also found ‘food item spoiled, adulterated, contaminated or cross-contaminated’ at this Midtown West Manhattan Indian restaurant.
To pass the NYC Health Dept. inspection, a restaurant must receive 27 violation points or less.
Bombay Masala received a whopping 67 violation points and failed the NYC Health Dept. inspection of March 31, 2009.
Sanitary Violations observed at Bombay Masala during the March 31, 2009 inspection:
1.) Non-food contact surface improperly constructed. Unacceptable material used. Non-food contact surface or equipment improperly maintained.
2.) Lighting inadequate. Bulb not shielded or shatterproof.
