Mehfil Indian Cuisine, NYC located on 37th Ave in Jackson Heights is not vermin proof, has evidence of mice or live mice in the facility’s food and/or non-food areas and food item spoiled, adulterated, contaminated or cross-contaminated, says the New York City Department of Health following its inspection of this restaurant on February 12, 2009.

The NYC Health Dept. also found ‘food not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service’ at this NYC Indian restaurant.

Mehfil Indian Cuisine received 60 violation points, a significant deterioration over the 0 Violation Points in the previous inspection of January 20, 2009.

To pass the NYC Health Dept. inspection, a restaurant must receive 27 violation points or less. By receiving 60 violation points, Mehfil Indian Cuisine failed the NYC Health Dept. inspection of February 12, 2009.

Sanitary Violations observed at Mehfil Indian Cuisine during the February 12, 2009 inspection:

1.) Non-food contact surface improperly constructed. Unacceptable material used. Non-food contact surface or equipment improperly maintained.

Spice Fusion Indian Bistro located in Midtown West Manhattan is not vermin proof, harborage or conditions conducive to vermin exist and there is evidence of mice or live mice in the facility’s food and/or non-food areas, says the New York City Department of Health following its inspection of this restaurant on February 25, 2009.

The NYC Health Dept. also found inadequate lighting and non-food contact surface improperly constructed at this NYC Indian restaurant.

To pass the NYC Health Dept. inspection, a restaurant must receive 27 violation points or less.

Spice Fusion received 19 violation points, a significant improvement over the 96 Violation Points in the previous inspection of February 10, 2009, and passed the NYC Health Dept. inspection.

Sanitary Violations observed at Spice Fusion during the February 25, 2009 inspection:

1.) Non-food contact surface improperly constructed. Unacceptable material used. Non-food contact surface or equipment improperly maintained.
2.) Lighting inadequate. Bulb not shielded or shatterproof.
