Tadka NYC Review – Disappointing Food, Clueless Service

Food at Tadka Indian restaurant in NYC is not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service, says the New York City Health Department after it inspected the restaurant on March 3, 2009.

To pass the NYC Health Dept. inspection, a restaurant must receive 27 violation points or less.

Tadka Indian restaurant located on E.53rd Street in Midtown East Manhattan has passed the NYC Health Dept. inspection of March 3, 2009 by receiving 8 Violation Points.

Sanitary Violations observed at Tadka during the March 3, 2009 inspection:

1.) Non-food contact surface improperly constructed. Unacceptable material used. Non-food contact surface or equipment improperly maintained.
2.) Food not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service.

The NYC Dept. of Health said a Notice of Violation was not issued as a result of this inspection and that the violation point total received by Tadka is below the average violation point total of 16 for all NYC restaurants on their most recent inspection.
