At Vermilion Indian restaurant located at 480 Lexington Avenue in Midtown Manhattan is not vermin proof and harborage or conditions conducive to vermin exist, says the NYC Health Department after it inspected the restaurant on January 29, 2009.

Also, pray that you do not feel like going to the rest room at At Vermilion Indian restaurant because the NYC Health Dept. says that toilet facility at this Indian restaurant is not maintained and provided with toilet paper, waste receptacle and self-closing door.

To pass the NYC Health Dept. inspection, a restaurant must receive 27 violation points or less.

At Vermilion received 19 violation points and passed the the NYC Health Dept. inspection conducted on January 29, 2009.

Sanitary Violations observed at At Vermilion Indian restaurant during the January 29, 2009 inspection:

1.) Other general violation.
2.) Plumbing not properly installed or maintained; anti-siphonage or backflow prevention device not provided where required; equipment or floor not properly drained; sewage disposal system in disrepair or not functioning properly.
3.) Toilet facility not maintained and provided with toilet paper, waste receptacle and self-closing door.
4.) Food contact surface not properly maintained.
5.) Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to vermin exist.
6.) Sanitized equipment or utensil, including in-use food dispensing utensil, improperly used or stored.

The NYC Dept. of Health said a Notice of Violation was not issued as a result of this inspection and that the violation point total received by At Vermilion is above the average violation point total of 16 for all NYC restaurants on their most recent inspection.
