Delhi Heights NYC Review – Mediocre Food, Lousy Service

Food at Delhi Heights Indian restaurant in NYC is not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service, says the NYC Health Department after it inspected the restaurant on February 13, 2009.

Delhi Heights Indian restaurant on 74th St in Jackson Heights, New York received 18 violation points, an improvement over the 29 and 57 Violation Points that it received in the previous inspections of January 13, 2009 and November 24, 2008 respectively.

A NYC restaurant needs a score of 27 or less to pass the NYC Health Dept inspection. Delhi Heights passed the restaurant inspection by receiving 18 points.

Sanitary Violations observed at Delhi Heights during the February 13, 2009 inspection:

1.) Non-food contact surface improperly constructed. Unacceptable material used. Non-food contact surface or equipment improperly maintained.
2.) Food not protected from potential source of contamination during storage, preparation, transportation, display or service.
3.) Cold food held above 41°F (smoked fish above 38°F) except during necessary preparation.

The NYC Department of Health said a Notice of Violation was not issued as a result of the February 13, 2009 inspection. But the violation point total received by Delhi Heights is above the average Violation Point total of 16, for all NYC restaurants on their most recent inspection.
