Delhi Heights Review – Mediocre Food, Lousy Service
There is evidence of rats or live rats in the food and/or non-food areas of Delhi Heights Indian restaurant in Jackson Heights, according to a recent Inspection Report of the New York City Department of Health.
Delhi Heights Indian restaurant on 74th St in Jackson Heights, New York is not vermin proof and has evidence of rats or live rats in the facility’s food and/or non-food areas, says the NYC Health Department following its inspection of this restaurant on January 13, 2009.
Delhi Heights is owned by Mike Narula, according to the restaurant’s web site.
The NYC Health Department also found that at Delhi Heights hand washing facility is not provided in or near food preparation area and toilet room.
By receiving 29 Violation Points, Delhi Heights failed the NYC Health Department Inspection of January 13, 2009. A NYC restaurant needs a score of 27 or less to pass the NYC Health Department inspection.
Folks, this is the second time that Delhi Heights has failed the NYC Health Department inspection. Delhi Heights failed the NYC Health Department Inspection of November 24, 2008 too by getting 57 Violation Points.
Sanitary Violations observed at Delhi Heights during the January 13, 2009 inspection:
1.) Other general violation.
2.) Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to vermin exist.
3.) Hand washing facility not provided in or near food preparation area and toilet room. Hot and cold running water at adequate pressure not provided at facility. Soap and an acceptable hand-drying device not provided.
4.) Evidence of rats or live rats present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas.
5.) Hot food not held at or above 140°F.
The NYC Department of Health said a Notice of Violation was not issued as a result of the January 13, 2009 inspection. But the violation point total received by Delhi Heights is above the average Violation Point total of 16, for all NYC restaurants on their most recent inspection.
