By the way, Chola sent us an e-mail about a recent remodeling of the restaurant and their updated kitchen. Apparently, Chola also has a new manager and staff with improved service.
Reacting to our earlier story about Chola failing the NYC Health Dept. inspection, the Chola management said:
Once a restaurant has a violation, the NYC Health Department gives 3 weeks to rectify the situation and we have passed the follow-up inspection. New York City has very strict standards as you know, but the situation of pests such as mice are a situation that plague the finest of NYC restaurants. Chola resides in a very old building. We do not own the whole building. The mice droppings were found in one corner of the building and is not a reflection of the hygiene of the premises or the food of Chola. There was no problem with the actual food of Chola.
